Youth Robotics Program
Unlock your child’s full potential and register with Book and Wisdom today.
At Book and Wisdom, we aim to help kickstart children’s early development of rudimentary and creative skills. And through the use of guided robotics kits and experienced instructors, we are able to do just that!
On a weekly basis, students meet with their peers and our instructors to work on creations that teach them the power of patience and hard work. Students will begin with an introductory course titled “BricQ” where they will be taught the basics of robotics and learn it’s coding. Then, they will graduate onto “SpikeQ” where they are able to take their robotics skills to the next level.

Course Information
BricQ Essentials Intro to Robotics course is an introduction to robotics, strictly using mechanical components from the LegoEducation sets. Students will build 12 projects, including ferris wheels, forklifts, windmills, cranes, etc. The mechanical components that children will use are gears, levers, bearings, links, and more. We aim to familiarize the children with parts you may find in an actual robot. Additionally, children will improve their build speed with the legos in order to move on to more advanced courses Book and Wisdom has to offer, involving mechanical and electro-mechanical projects.
BricQ Intro to Mechanical Systems is a higher level beginner program to mechanical systems and components which deals strictly with mechanical projects. The projects are more advanced than the Essentials course and the children will slowly become less reliant on build instructions and more reliant on their own creativity. Competitions and activities will take place during the course where each student will have the opportunity to showcase their modifications to their projects. Upon completion of the course, students should have understood the concepts of gear ratio advantages, hydraulics, wind turbines, and more.
SpikeQ is the beginning course to intermediate robotics using an electro-mechanical LegoEducation set. Students will now be introduced to the application of electrical components to create complex projects. The creativity is limitless in this course and the main projects include line tracking cars, cnc machines, object detecting cars, etc. The goal os this course is to aid students as they attempt to create their own projects from scratch and help them understand the advantages of having smart sensors inside of a robot.
*BricQ Intro classes are prerequisites for SpikeQ
Meet Our Robotics Instructors
Hadi Sleiman
Experience: Arduino & Microcontroller, Raspberry Pi, Microprocessors, Electromechanical Systems, Control Systems, C, Python Language
During Hadi’s time as a Design and Validation Engineer at General Motors and Stellantis, he excelled in high technical work. One project he worked on involved designing door latches with over 10,000 compacted parts inside – talk about a precise engineer! In his free time, he likes to get creative, build his own projects, and repair equipment.
Hadi’s experience in conducting robotics lessons at Book and Wisdom has given him the opportunity to build rapport with students and foster a long-term healthy environment for everyone who joins.

Hajar Sharif
Experience: 18+ years of experience in research and development with a focus on mechanical design, data analysis and image/video processing. Currently works as a data scientist at John Deere. CAD software, Python, additive manufacturing.
Hajjar has successfully obtained a PhD in mechanical engineering. She enjoys spending time with her family, spending time in the garden, and cooking various things. She notes that reading books, listening to podcasts and/or watching movies are in her daily schedule.
Hajjar brings years of experience – a unique asset – to Book and Wisdom and uses her motherly experience to connect with the young girls in our program.

Hassan Al-Thani
Experience: C++, 3D CAD Design, Automation and Manufacturing
Hassan previously worked for Yazaki North America and Coherix to improve and automate manufacturing processes. His work included Engineering Mechanical Design as well as vision systems and software. In his free time, Hassan likes to read, play sports, practice martial arts, and spend time with family.
Hassan has been with Book and Wisdom for quite some time now and has learned how to connect with students to make sure they feel safe in practicing their creativity.
